HC Deb 12 November 1928 vol 222 cc473-4
20. Mr. WELLOCK

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether the Malay States Workmen's Compensation Bill has become Law; and, if not, whether he can give any information on the matter?

Mr. AMERY

So far as I am aware the Bill has not yet become law; my latest information is that it was considered at a meeting of the Federal Council on the 30th of July, when it was referred to a Select Committee of the Council for further examination.

Mr. WELLOCK

Will the right hon. Gentleman enquire the reason of the delay, as this matter has been held up for two or three years? Will he find out the source of the obstruction.

Mr. AMERY

Yes, I will.
