Sir EVELYN CECILasked the Minister of Health whether the attention of his Department has been called to the increasing subsidence of land, and consequent damage to property, in the brine districts of Cheshire; and whether he proposes to take any action in the matter by enlarging the area or powers of the Brine Compensation Board?
Mr. CHAMBERLAINMy attention has been drawn to this matter, and I have arranged for one of my Inspectors to inspect the area and to confer with interested parties. A Provisional Order will be required if the area of the compensation district is to be extended.
