HC Deb 07 November 1928 vol 222 c50
Sir WILLIAM DAVISON

(by Private Notice) asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether his attention has been called to a serious case of highway robbery in Kensington during the second week in October, when a Mr. and Mrs. Reid, who were returning from the Motor Show to their home in Warwick Gardens, were set upon by a gang, robbed of money and valuables and received serious personal injuries; whether it is a fact that no police were within call; and whether he is satisfied as to the adequacy of the police force for the protection of residents in this part of Kensington from highway robbery in the future?

The SECRETARY of STATE for the HOME DEPARTMENT (Sir William Joynson-Hicks)

My attention had not been drawn previously to this case, but I am having inquiry made, and I will communicate with my hon. Friend.
