§ Commodore KINGPractically the only allowance in kind to coal workers in the Ruhr is in respect of domestic coal, which is valued at about 5d. per week per person employed. In Durham the coal allowance is a ton every four weeks for householders. Valuing it at 10s. per ton this is about Is. 6d. per week per person employed. In addition, there are free houses or allowances in lieu thereof, the value of which amounts to about ed. per week per person employed.
