The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for FOREIGN AFFAIRS (Mr. Godfrey Locker - Lampson)

My right hon. Friend the Foreign Secretary received a call from Dr. Wang Chung-hui on the 14th of May and had a general conversation with him regarding the situation in China and Sino-British relations.

Mr. MALONE

Does this gentleman represent any Government in China, or what is his position?

Mr. LOCKER-LAMPSON

No, he did not come officially to represent anybody. As a matter of fact he was the Chinese representative on the Permanent Court of International Justice.
