HC Deb 16 May 1928 vol 217 cc1015-6
17. Mr. SULLIVAN

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty what action he proposes to take with regard to the South American beef recently supplied by the Glasgow cold store as New Zealand meat?

Lieut.-Colonel HEADLAM

The offending contractor has been removed from the list of firms eligible to be invited to tender for the supply of meat to the Navy.

Mr. SULLIVAN

Will the hon. Gentleman make inquiries as to who is really liable, and is it not the case that the Cold Storage Company are in no way to blame for what happened?

Lieut.-Colonel HEADLAM

I do not think there is any suggestion that the Cold Storage Company is to blame, but I must have notice of any further question on this point.
