§ 28. Mr. E. BROWNasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether consignments of mechanical lighters and buttons at present in transit, which were ordered prior to the imposition of the new duties, will be allowed to enter this country duty free?
Mr. SAMUELThe answer is in the negative. Under the Resolutions, the duties on mechanical lighters and buttons took effect as from 28th April and apply to all such articles imported on and after that date.
