HC Deb 10 May 1928 vol 217 c397
24. Mr. W. M. ADAMSON

asked the Minister of Health what conditions have been laid down by his Department in connection with the appointment of the county medical officer for Salop; and, seeing that the Salop County Council now dispute the terms proposed, what action does he propose to take to bring about a settlement?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

No special conditions have been laid down by my Department in connection with this appointment, but I have suggested to the county council that in making the appointment they should have regard to the standard salaries for such appointments which have been commended by my Department for the guidance of local authorities. As regards the last part of the question, I am informed that the county council have deferred consideration of the matter for the present.
