HC Deb 09 May 1928 vol 217 c199
2. Captain GARRO-JONES

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he has had any correspondence with the German Government on the question of the withdrawal of the British Army of Occupation; and whether he will mark the expiration of the 10th year after the War by the withdrawal of all these British troops?

Sir A. CHAMBERLAIN

The answer to the first part of the question is in the negative. As regards the second part, I have nothing to add to the reply by my hon. Friend the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs to the right hon. Gentleman the Member for North Norfolk (Mr. Buxton) on 9th February last.

Captain GARRO-JONES

Is it impossible for the right hon. Gentleman to set some limit to this period of occupation, which is casuing great dissatisfaction, not only in Germany but throughout a considerable part of this country as well?

Sir A. CHAMBERLAIN

When I say that I can add nothing to a reply which I have given, I mean that I can add nothing.
