HC Deb 09 May 1928 vol 217 c197
1. Mr. DAY

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether a satisfactory arrangement has now been reached with Persia on the questions raised by the Persian Finance Minister in regard to the administration of the port of Abadan; and whether the arrangement covers the right of British warships to lie at Abadan without the permission of the Persian Government?

The SECRETARY of STATE for FOREIGN AFFAIRS (Sir Austen Chamberlain)

I am at present unable to add anything to the reply given on 2nd May to the hon. Member for North Battersea (Mr. Saklatvala).

Mr. DAY

Has the point raised by the Persian authorities in regard to shore officers been withdrawn?

Sir A. CHAMBERLAIN

I have said that I can, at present, add nothing to the statement which I made on 2nd May, to which I beg the hon. Member to refer.
