asked the Under-Secretary of Stave for the Home Department, as representing the First Commissioner of Works, whether he is now in a position to state what steps will be taken to improve the accommodation in the Preston Tax Office (No. 2)?

Steps have already been taken to improve the lighting and ventilation of these offices, and arrangements have been made to place the accommodation now occupied by the Ministry of Pensions Area Office at the disposal of the Inland Revenue to relieve the congestion in the tax offices.
