HC Deb 13 March 1928 vol 214 c1716
53. Mr. HANNON

asked the Postmaster-General whether any further developments have taken place with reference to the request of the National Federation of Postal and Telegraph Workers for official recognition; and if he will now review his former decision?

Sir W. MITCHELL-THOMSON

The answer to both parts of the question is in the negative.

Mr. HANNON

This is a matter which has been before my right hon. Friend for a long period. When does he think he will really give it serious consideration?

Sir W. MITCHELL-THOMSON

My view on this matter has not changed. I laid down the qualifying rule several years ago, and I still adhere to it.

Mr. HANNON

Is not this an instance of the evil of maintaining one's opinion without checking it?
