asked the Under-Secretary of State for War how many officers employed at the War Office are in receipt of pensions (other than War pensions) and military pay; and if he will grant a Return giving their names and the amount of such pensions and pay in each case?

Two officers employed in the War Office under special conditions are at present in receipt of pay at £2 17s. 9d. and £1 18s. 9d. per day respectively in addition to retired pay of £120 per annum. Instructions were given some time ago for the retired pay to be suspended from 1st April next. In the circumstances, I hope my hon. Friend will agree that it is unnecessary to make a formal Return.
