§ 47. Colonel WEDGWOODasked the Prime Minister whether the railway on the right bank of the Rhine which runs, or ran, through the British sphere is to be retained under British control; and whether approaches have been made to His Majesty's Government to surrender the control of the railways to the French?
The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for FOREIGN AFFAIRS (Mr. Ronald McNeill)The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. The proposals for the final settlement of the transport question in the British zone, 208 which are still the subject of negotiations, do not provide for French control of any railways in the British zone.
