Mr. TOWNENDasked the Postmaster-General whether, in view of the inconvenience the closing of the sub-post office in Gorton Road, North Reddish, has caused the residents in that district, he will have inquiry made into the circumstances which led to its being closed, with a view to arranging for the re-establishment of the facilities previously enjoyed?
§ Sir W. MITCHELL-THOMSONThis office was closed at the end of 1926 on the resignation of the former sub-post-mistress. The North Reddish Sub-Post Office is only about a quarter of a mile distant and there is another office within half a mile in the opposite direction. I do not think that the circumstances warrant the reopening of the office.
