HC Deb 01 March 1928 vol 214 cc603-4

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether the Government can now state the decision at which it has arrived regarding the recommendations contained in the Fourth Report of the Royal Commission on the Civil Service, dated 2nd April, 1914, relative to appointments held directly from the Crown; and what action, if any, has been taken, or is proposed to be taken, in connection with the acceptance of any such recommendation?

There has been no change in the position since the reply given to the hon. Member on the 8th February, 1926. A list of civil appointments held direct from the Crown will in future be included in the Schedule to the Principal Order of 22nd July, 1920.
