HC Deb 26 June 1928 vol 219 c211
46. Mr. SMEDLEY CROOKE

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury the number of non-ex-service men employed in Government Departments in London as office keepers, storekeepers, and messengers, who were over 65 years of age on 31st March last?

Mr. SAMUEL

The particulars immediately available do not enable me to answer this question, but it is clear that the number of persons answering to the description in my hon. Friend's question must be very small indeed.

Mr. THURTLE

Is it not the fact, also, that these men of 65 could not very well serve in the last War?
