asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, if his attention has been called to the nuisance caused by persons collecting from door to door for charities at a remuneration of 3d. in the shilling of the amount collected; and if he will introduce legislation to make this practice illegal?

As I stated in my reply of the 27th March last, a Bill to carry out the recommendations of the Committee on the Supervision of Charities is in preparation and I will endeavour to introduce it next Session.
