§ Mr. AMERYThe answer to the first part of my hon. Friend's question is in the negative; as regards the second part, such surveys have been undertaken in several parts of the Empire, and have no reason to doubt that further surveys will be undertaken as occasion arises.
§ Mr. HURDHas my right hon. Friend called the attention of the Chancellor of the Exchequer to the great oil resources in various parts of the Empire and their potential value, and asked him whether he could not see his way to further their development by bringing the new Petrol Duty under the Pre- 1403 ference policy? Will he take the opportunity of calling the attention of the Chancellor of the Exchequer to this fact?
