HC Deb 11 June 1928 vol 218 cc603-4
2. Mr. DAY

asked the Under-Secretary of State for India whether he has now received the full Report, together with the views of the Government of Bengal and the Government of India, regarding the firing on the railway strikers in Calcutta on the 28th March last; and, if so, whether he will give the House the particulars?

Earl WINTERTON

The Report itself has been received to-day, but not the views of the Government of Bengal and the Government of India. Until these have been received, I cannot make any statement.

Mr. DAY

Can the Noble Lord say when it is hoped to receive this Report from the Government of Bengal, so that a statement can be made on this subject?

Earl WINTERTON

It is difficult to give an approximate date, but I will inform the hon. Gentleman when I am in a position to answer this question, so that he can put another question down.
