HC Deb 07 June 1928 vol 218 c340
29. Mr. PARKINSON (for Mr. HAYES)

asked the Minister of Health whether he will state the cost of and the prices, inclusive of subsidy, received by private builders for houses built under the scheme of the local authority in Torquay; and the amounts of subsidy received by the builders?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

I have no information as to the actual cost and selling prices of houses erected by private enterprise under the subsidy scheme at Torquay. Under the town council's scheme for the assistance of private enterprise it was a condition of the grant of subsidy that the net freehold selling price of the house should not exceed £600 after allowing for subsidy. The amount of the subsidy given by the town council was £120.
