HC Deb 10 July 1928 vol 219 c2050
56. Sir NICHOLAS GRATTAN-DOYLE

asked the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs whether he has any information as to the provisions of the proposed treaty between New Zealand and Japan?

Captain MARGESSON

I have been asked to answer this question. His Majesty's Government in New Zealand have kept His Majesty's Government in Great Britain informed of negotiations which have for some time been in progress with a view to an exchange of notes regulating the commercial relations between New Zealand and Japan. I understand that the proposed agreement would deal with the treatment to be accorded by each of the two countries to the other in matters of commerce, customs and navigation.
