Mr. MALONEIs it the case that nine out of 19 of the higher officials of the London police are ex-naval or military officers; and does the right hon. Gentleman think that sufficient chance is given to members of the police force to receive promotion?
§ Colonel HOWARD-BURYIn view of the necessity for disciplining the police force, does he not think it most appropriate to employ ex-officers of the Army and Navy?
