HC Deb 28 February 1928 vol 214 c202
29. Mr. DAY

asked the Minister of Transport what arrangements have been made to notify the motoring public where the area of the no reversing order (within three miles of Charing Cross) commences and ends; and whether any communications have passed between his Department and the recognised motoring associations of Great Britain on this subject?

The MINISTER of TRANSPORT (Colonel Ashley)

I do not think any further notification is required or practicable. As regards the second part of the question, communications from the motoring associations were received and very carefully considered before the order was made.

Mr. DAY

Has the right hon. and gallant Gentleman considered the painting of a lamp-post at the extremity of this three-mile limit, so that motorists will know when they are coming into it?

Colonel ASHLEY

No, Sir. I do not propose to do that.
