HC Deb 20 December 1928 vol 223 c3221
66. Colonel WEDGWOOD

asked the Under-Secretary of State for India whether he has received a memorandum from subjects of His Highness the Maharajah of Patiala; whether he is in a position to inquire into the complaints; and whether he will forward the memorandum to the Butler Committee?

The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for INDIA (Earl Winterton)

No such memorandum has been received at the India Office.

Colonel WEDGWOOD

May I send the the Noble Lord a copy?

Earl WINTERTON

I shall be very much obliged to the right hon. and gallant Gentleman if he sends me a copy, but I am afraid that no action will result from his doing so, because I do not think it. can concern in any way the Butler Committee under their terms of reference.
