HC Deb 20 December 1928 vol 223 cc3206-7
35. Countess of IVEAGH

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether he can inform the House when the Commission appointed in 1924 to assess the damage suffered by Allied nationals in Turkey during the War is likely to conclude its labours; and whether, having regard to the hardship inflicted on British claimants by this delay, he will take such steps as may be possible to accelerate the findings of the Commission?

The FINANCIAL SECRETARY to the TREASURY (Mr. Arthur Michael Samuel)

I would refer the Noble Lady to the reply given to the hon. Baronet the Member for the Barnstaple Division (Sir B. Peto) on the 22nd November, of which I am sending her a copy.
