HC Deb 20 December 1928 vol 223 c3202
25. Brigadier-General WRIGHT

asked the Minister of Health the procedure that should be followed by those who wish to appeal against their new assessments, and indicate the period within which such appeals may be made?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

The Rating and Valuation Act provides for the submission of objections to the Assessment Committee by persons aggrieved within 25 days of the date of deposit of the draft list by the Rating Authority. The procedure in connection with the making and hearing of objections is governed by Section 26 and the Fourth Schedule to that Act. I may add that Rating Authorities have shown themselves ready to inform persons wishing to object of the steps to be taken. A proposal to amend a valuation list can of course he made at any time after the list has come into force.
