HC Deb 13 December 1928 vol 223 c2302
3. Sir ROBERT THOMAS

asked the Home Secretary if he is aware that there is great distress among minister of religion in the depressed areas, particularly in South Wales; and whether, in view of their ineligibility for unemployment pay, he will consider some other means for their relief?

The MINISTER of HEALTH (Mr. Chamberlain)

I have been asked to reply. My attention has not previously been called to special distress among persons of the class mentioned. Any special arrangements for their assistance as a class would appear to be a matter for the religious associations to which they are attached.
