HC Deb 05 December 1928 vol 223 c1200
33. Lord HENRY CAVENDISH-BENTINCK

asked the Minister of Labour how many men in the Durham and South Wales coalfields, respectively, have ceased to be qualified for benefit under the Unemployment Insurance Acts?

Sir A. STEEL-MAITLAND

I am not sure precisely what information my Noble Friend desires, and if he will communicate with me I will try to see what is available. I might add that a very large majority of the miners out of work in the South Wales and Durham coalfields are drawing benefit.
