HC Deb 25 April 1928 vol 216 cc899-900
20. Sir R. THOMAS

asked the Minister of Health whether, in view of the continued high rate of maternal mortality, he will consider granting financial aid to research into this question?

Sir K. WOOD

My right hon. Friend is proposing to appoint a special Committee on maternal mortality, one of whose functions will be to consider the need for further research into the question, and that Committee will no doubt report whether any further financial assistance could usefully be provided for this purpose.
