HC Deb 24 April 1928 vol 216 c785
12. Mr. MACLEAN

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what reply he has made to those sheep farmers who have protested against the taking over of sheep grazings by the Forestry Commissioners; and what action he has taken, if any, to enable those sheep farmers to continue the rearing of sheep?

Sir J. GILMOUR

The protests which I had in mind when I answered the hon. Member's question on 4th April related to the year 1924 and were the subject of correspondence between the Board of Agriculture for Scotland, the Forestry Commission and the National Farmers' Union of Scotland at the time. As regards the question of action on my part, I would refer the hon. Member to my answer to the second part of his question of 4th April.
