Miss WILKINSONasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is aware that police officers are continually trying to obtain admission to the Gate Theatre studio and similar institutions for the promotion of dramatic art; and whether, in view of the danger that their attendance may deprive such places of the privileges attaching to private performances, and in view of the cultural work being done by these institutions, he will cause such attempts at attendance by the police to cease?

Proceedings are being taken against the proprietors of the premises referred to for offences under the Theatres Act, and as the case is before the Court my right hon. Friend cannot make any statement at present.
