HC Deb 03 April 1928 vol 215 c1758
2. Sir R. THOMAS

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether, in view of the importance of efficiency in artificial lighting, as affecting the eyesight of the nation, his Department will be represented at the International Illumination Commission to be held in America in September next; and whether facilities will be given for representatives of the National Physical Laboratory and other public institutions, whom this question concerns, also to be present?

Sir P. CUNLIFFE-LISTER

My Department will not be represented at the Conference mentioned, but His Majesty's Government will be represented through the Department of Scientific and Indus- Research. I understand that certain of the technical and industrial organisations concerned in the subject will also send representatives.
