FORESTIER-WALKERThe average cost per acre of planting and establishing the Forestry Commission's plantations in 1926 was £6 7s. 7d. and £8 17s. 4d., respectively; but these figures are explained at length on page 30 of the Commissioners' Seventh Annual Report, to which the hon. Member's attention is directed. It is difficult without an elaborate inquiry to give a precise figure for cost of upkeep, but a rough estimate is 4s. per acre per annum.
