HC Deb 30 November 1927 vol 211 c496
46. Mr. HARDIE

asked the Prime Minister whether he intends to introduce legislation to secure for the nation the values created by public expense in making improvements?

Sir K. WOOD

I have been asked to reply. If the hon. Member's question is to be; interpreted as an inquiry whether the Government propose to introduce a Bill for the purpose of taxing site values, the answer is in the negative.

Mr. HARDIE

Having in view the statement of the Minister of Health about the robbery that was going on through landlords taking the results of public expenditure and improvements, are the Government going to continue to allow the landlords to swindle the public?

Mr. SPEAKER

That is a little speech for a debate.
