asked the Prime Minister if he will consider during the lifetime of the present Parliament introducing legislation to provide for the use of the alternative vote at the next General Election, so that any Government which is returned may have a majority representation?

Would the right hon Gentleman consider the appointment of a committee of inquiry on the lines of the Speaker's Conference, which took place during the War Parliament?
