§ Sir K. WOODThe Act came into force only on the 1st July last. I may say, however, that byelaws as to the emission of black smoke have been approved for a number of authorities. Some regional advisory committees have been set up. A draft Order extending the Alkali Acts has been prepared and 2049 considered with representative bodies and the statutory inquiry will be held next month.
