HC Deb 21 November 1927 vol 210 cc1405-6
56. Mr. RAMSDEN

asked the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies whether an adequate steamship service is now being provided between Canada and the different West Indian Colonies in accordance with the trade agreement of July, 1925?

Mr. ORMSBY-GORE

As far as I am aware, the position is still as stated in the reply to the hon. Member's question on the 23rd May.

Mr. RAMSDEN

Are representations being made to the Government of the Dominion of Canada inviting them to carry out the promise that they made in the spring?

Mr. ORMSBY-GORE

I should not like to take my hon. Friend's exact words, but discussions have taken place, and it is a question of building ships.
