HC Deb 21 November 1927 vol 210 c1416
77. Sir ROBERT HAMILTON

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether any Report has yet been received of the recent raid into Kenya Colony from Abyssinia; and whether he will consider the advisability of preparing a Parliamentary Paper covering the number and character of these raids committed during the last 15 years?

Mr. LOCKER-LAMPSON

Yes, Sir. In June last a party of 40 or 50 armed Abyssinian raiders penetrated some 80 kilometres into British territory. They were encountered by a Kenya police patrol at Bagaga, in the Marsabit district. One Kenya policeman was killed and three wounded. The Abyssinians lost four killed and a number wounded, and retreated towards the Northern Horr area. With regard to the second part of the question, I will have a paper containing the information asked for by the hon. Member prepared for communication to Parliament.
