§ 77. Sir ROBERT HAMILTONasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether any Report has yet been received of the recent raid into Kenya Colony from Abyssinia; and whether he will consider the advisability of preparing a Parliamentary Paper covering the number and character of these raids committed during the last 15 years?
Mr. LOCKER-LAMPSONYes, Sir. In June last a party of 40 or 50 armed Abyssinian raiders penetrated some 80 kilometres into British territory. They were encountered by a Kenya police patrol at Bagaga, in the Marsabit district. One Kenya policeman was killed and three wounded. The Abyssinians lost four killed and a number wounded, and retreated towards the Northern Horr area. With regard to the second part of the question, I will have a paper containing the information asked for by the hon. Member prepared for communication to Parliament.
