HC Deb 16 November 1927 vol 210 c1032
40. Mr. LUMLEY

asked the Minister of Labour when he expects to receive the Report of the Committee on the Decasualisation of Dock Labour?

Sir A. STEEL-MAITLAND

In the two Reports made by the Committee in 1924 the establishment or revision of registration schemes at the principal ports was recommended as a preliminary to further measures. The Committee remain in being and are kept informed of the progress of these schemes, but further experience of their working is necessary before the Committee can be in a position to make additional recommendations.
