§ The MINISTER of TRANSPORT (Colonel Ashley)I understand that the company are not prepared to proceed further with this matter at the present time. I would draw the hon. Member's attention to the first paragraph of the recently published report of the London Traffic Advisory Committee, which states that under existing conditions the railway companies are not prepared, or are not in a position to raise the capital necessary for substantial schemes of extention or improvement.
