HC Deb 25 May 1927 vol 206 c1997
31. Mr. STEPHEN

asked the Minister of Health the number of marriages that have taken place in Chorley borough, Lancashire, in 1920 and 1926, respectively?

Sir K. WOOD

No records of marriages are available for local administrative areas. But in the Chorley Registration District (which comprises, in addition to the municipal borough of Chorley, the urban districts of Withnell, Leyland, Adlington and Croston and the rural district of Chorley) the number of marriages registered for 1920 and 1926 were 820 and 540 respectively.
