§ 30. Mr. RUSSELLasked the Minister of Transport if he has received an application from the Tynemouth Borough Council for a grant to defray half of the council's proportion of the additional cost of the coast road; and whether he has come to any decision in the matter?
§ Colonel ASHLEYThe Tynemouth Borough Council and the other local authorities concerned made application, through their joint committee, on the 20th May for a grant towards the cost of carrying out additional work, which has been found to be necessary since the original estimate was submitted. To enable this application to be considered, the authorities have been asked to furnish information on engineering details, and when this information is available a decision on the application will be given.
