HC Deb 19 May 1927 vol 206 cc1337-8
6. Lieut.-Colonel Sir FREDERICK HALL

asked the Home Secretary whether proceedings will be instituted against any of the British subjects who aided and abetted the German Communist, Kate Gussfeldt, who was recently convicted of serious offences against the law of this country and sentenced to two months' imprisonment with a recommendation for deportation?

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

I am afraid it would not be in the public interest to say in advance whether proceedings will or will not be instituted in any particular case.

Sir F. HALL

I hope my right hon. Friend is not going to lose sight of the case of this lady.

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

No, Sir, I have had my eye on the lady for some time.

Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHY

Is the Empire still safe?

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

Yes.
