HC Deb 19 May 1927 vol 206 cc1348-9
30. Mr. R. RICHARDSON

asked the Minister of Health the average cost of the erection of houses by the various local authorities in the County of Durham for the years 1920 to 1926, inclusive, by direct labour and by contract, respectively, for non-parlour and parlour houses?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

I will have a statement prepared giving the information desired so far as it is available, and will forward it to the hon. Member.

Mr. ALBERY

May I ask whether the attention of the right hon. Gentleman has been called to the cottages which have been erected by His Majesty the King on the Sandringham Estate, and whether he will consider circulating particulars of these cottages?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

That hardly seems to arise out of a question concerning the County of Durham.

Mr. PALING

Will the statement of the right hon. Gentleman be circulated in the OFFICIAL REPORT.

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

Yes.

Mr. ALBERY

Cannot the houses which have been erected on the Sandringham Estate be equally well erected in the County of Durham?

Mr. RICHARDSON

My question applies to the whole of the country, and not only to the County of Durham.
