asked the Postmaster-General the number of orders for installation of a telephone service in the London Area which were unexecuted at the end of April this year; and how many of these had been on hand for more than a month at that date?

The number of orders for telephone service in the London Area uncompleted at the 30th April last was 4,068, of which 1,303 (including 380 cases in which the subscribers were not ready for the Post Office to carry out the work) had been on hand for more than a month.
