HC Deb 17 May 1927 vol 206 cc976-7
38. Colonel DAY

asked the Postmaster-General to state exactly what subjects with regard to the British Broadcasting Corporation he is prepared to take responsibility for in this House?

Sir W. MITCHELL-THOMSON

I can only refer the hon. Member to the statement which I made with regard to the position of the Broadcasting Corporation on the 15th November last.

Colonel DAY

Can we have from the right hon. Gentleman what questions he is prepared to answer in this House with reference to the British Broadcasting Corporation, because when any questions are put down he says he cannot answer them?

Sir W. MITCHELL-THOMSON

Distinctions are difficult to draw precisely in words, but on the broad question of policy I am prepared to deal with all questions put to me. Questions in regard to day by day working are for the British Broadcasting Corporation to deal with.
