Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHYasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether a newspaper in Swahili, known as "Habari," was published until recently in Kenya Colony for the information of the natives; whether it is proposed to recommence publication; and, if so, whether the paper may be used as a memorandum for the publication in Swahili of all Ordinances, Regulations and Laws affecting the natives?
§ Mr. AMERYThe answer to the first two parts of the question is in the affirmative. I am in communication with the Governor on the question of publishing in Swahili laws affecting the natives, and the hon. and gallant Member's suggestion will be considered.
