Mr. CHAMBERLAINI would refer the hon. Member to the reply given on the 14th March to the hon. Member for Aston, in which were given particulars of the expenditure on housing of local authorities in England and Wales for each year from 1918–1919 to 1924–1925. The bulk of expenditure on housing during those years was incurred under powers contained in Acts passed since the War.
