HC Deb 03 May 1927 vol 205 c1439
21. Sir A. SINCLAIR

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether his attention has been drawn to the recommendation made by the Scottish Land Court that the Board of Agriculture should not enforce against the smallholders at Watten Clause 4 of the conditions of let; and whether he is prepared to accept this suggestion?

Sir J. GILMOUR

I have just received the Order and Note by the Scottish Land Court containing the recommendation to which the hon. and gallant Member refers, and have not had an opportunity of considering it. But, prima facie, it seems to me that in a case such as this the obligation imposed on the tenants is not an unreasonable one.
